O acidente nuclear ocorrido em Fukushima, no Japão, há um ano, foi lembrado na Assembleia Legislativa, na tarde de hoje, pelo deputado Daniel Coelho. Salientando que os prejuízos com o vazamento radioativo ainda são enormes naquele país, o parlamentar se solidarizou com os japoneses e voltou a cobrar que Pernambuco invista em fontes de energia limpa.
“Achar que os benefícios das usinas nucleares são maiores que os riscos é um engano. Passado um ano do acidente em Fukushima, os índices de radioatividade ainda são altíssimos. Há cidades fantasmas, gente proibida de andar nas ruas. Os prejuízos vão permanecer por anos e não devemos nos esquecer disso ao pensar nos caminhos que traçamos para o futuro de nosso Estado”, afirmou Daniel.
O parlamentar vem lutando para evitar a construção da primeira usina nuclear do Nordeste em Pernambuco. Há projeto para que o empreendimento (considerado o maior e mais sujo do mundo) seja implantado no município de Itacuruba.
