Simão Durando prestigia Aula Inaugural de Medicina na Facape e destaca investimento de R$ 2,5 milhões

O prefeito Simão Durando participou, nesta segunda-feira (13), da aula inaugural do curso de Medicina da Faculdade de Petrolina (Facape). A cerimônia marca o início das aulas da primeira turma da instituição formada por 50 alunos aprovados na seleção ocorrida em 2022. O evento contou com a presença do ex-prefeito de Petrolina Miguel Coelho e do ex-senador Fernando Bezerra.

No discurso de boas-vindas, Simão Durando ressaltou a importância para a cidade pela chegada de um curso de Medicina sob gestão de uma autarquia municipal. O prefeito lembrou que para chegar a esse momento, a prefeitura investiu mais de R$ 2,5 milhões, tornando a Facape a primeira autarquia municipal de Pernambuco a implantar um curso de Medicina. O gestor ainda destacou que os graduandos vão ter à disposição o Hospital Dom Thomás que vai funcionar como Centro de Educação em Saúde. “Petrolina mais uma vez é destaque no cenário nacional e avança mais uma vez, de forma inédita. É com o coração em festa que anunciamos mais essa conquista”, destacou o prefeito.

Cerca de 80% da primeira turma é formada por alunos de Petrolina e Juazeiro, ou seja, futuros profissionais que pretendem reforçar a rede de Saúde do Vale do São Francisco. “Este é mais um curso de Medicina instituído em Petrolina. Já temos a Univasf, e agora a FACAPE formará novas médicas e médicos para cuidar de nossa população. Isso influencia diretamente na qualidade do serviço de saúde, ampliando o volume de profissionais para atender a população desta região”, salientou o prefeito.
