Prefeito Paulo Roberto é o primeiro pernambucano agraciado com o prêmio “Medalha Amigo da Primeira Infância” pela Câmara dos Deputados

O prefeito Paulo Roberto Leite de Arruda (MDB/PE), do município da Vitória de Santo Antão, foi agraciado nesta terça-feira (04), com a “Medalha Amigo da Primeira Infância” pela Câmara dos Deputados. A condecoração é resultado da votação realizada pelos parlamentares da Câmara Federal, e é concedida a cinco pessoas ou instituições que se destacaram pela contribuição ao desenvolvimento, à atenção, à proteção ou à garantia de direitos da criança nos seus primeiros cinco anos de vida, cruciais para o desenvolvimento cognitivo e social.

Essa é a segunda edição do prêmio e, Paulo Roberto, é o primeiro pernambucano a conquistá-lo. Dentre os diversos indicados em todo o Brasil, o prefeito da Vitória de Santo Antão foi um dos selecionados para vencer o prêmio, após a apresentação do seu nome pela deputada federal Iza Arruda (MDB/PE).
Os vencedores foram escolhidos por um conselho deliberativo formado pela 2ª secretária da Mesa Diretora, Maria do Rosário (PT-RS); pelo presidente da Comissão de Previdência, Assistência Social, Infância, Adolescência e Família, Fernando Rodolfo (PL-PE); e um representante de cada partido com assento na Câmara dos Deputados, indicado pelo respectivo líder.
O prefeito destacou que a “Medalha Amigo da Primeira Infância” é uma das maiores honrarias já recebidas em toda a sua trajetória política, e simboliza a prioridade de sua gestão em oferecer dignidade às crianças em todas as fases de suas vidas. “Esse reconhecimento aumenta a nossa responsabilidade com o tema e reforça o compromisso da nossa gestão na cidade da Vitória, com o bem-estar e o futuro das crianças, visando as próximas gerações”, disse o prefeito.

Paulo Roberto tem se dedicado às questões relacionadas à primeira infância. Suas ações abrangem áreas como assistência social, juventude, cidadania, saúde e educação, promovendo um avanço significativo na qualidade de vida das crianças do seu município. Um dos marcos importantes nessa trajetória foi a inauguração, em setembro de 2022, do primeiro CMEI da Vitória de Santo Antão, o Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil Professora Eunice de Vasconcelos Xavier.

O CMEI é um equipamento público de alto nível, projetado com salas de aula multiuso, salas bilíngues, acompanhamento neuropediátrico, musicoterapia, lactário, fraldário, rouparia, playground e refeitório, proporcionando um ambiente inclusivo, adequado para o desenvolvimento das crianças. Atualmente, atende 200 crianças e conta com a colaboração integrada das secretarias municipais para oferecer atenção em período integral, incluindo refeições e atividades recreativas.

É importante ressaltar que, ao longo dos quase quatro séculos de existência da cidade da Vitória de Santo Antão, esta é a primeira vez que uma creche pública foi inaugurada. Além do CMEI mencionado, um novo centro está prestes a ser inaugurado, com capacidade para atender mais 200 crianças. A meta do prefeito é atender 100% da demanda do município até o final de seu mandato.

Destaque na Educação

Na área da educação, Vitória de Santo Antão ocupava em 2020 a antepenúltima colocação entre os 13 municípios que compõe a GRE Mata Centro. Atualmente, a partir da gestão Paulo Roberto, figura entre as primeiras posições nos índices de desenvolvimento da Educação Infantil e Educação Básica em Pernambuco.

“Primeiramente, agradeço a Deus por ganhar este prêmio tão significativo. Dedico esta honraria ao povo pernambucano, em especial aos vitorienses, que dia após dia, demonstram confiança nas ações da nossa gestão. Não posso deixar de mencionar e agradecer ao secretário de Educação, professor Carmelo Souza e a toda equipe da pasta, especialmente às professoras Waleska Barros e Wiliane. Agradeço também a Dra. Roseana Amorim e a todos os professores e colaboradores do CMEI. Como membro do corpo diretor da Amupe, junto com a nossa presidente Márcia Conrado, prefeita de Serra Talhada, saliento a importância de compartilharmos essa boa prática com os demais prefeitos e prefeitas do nosso estado. Destaco de forma efusiva, o importante trabalho realizado pelo presidente do Tribunal de Contas de Pernambuco, Dr. Ranílson Ramos, com seu entusiasmo, amor e dedicação a essa brilhante causa, sabendo que esta também é uma bandeira defendida pela governadora de Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra, o que nos dá a tranquilidade de fazer muito mais pela primeira infância do nosso estado”, concluiu o prefeito.

A cerimônia de entrega da medalha será realizada no dia 23 de agosto, às 16 horas, no Salão Nobre da Câmara Federal, em alusão ao Dia da Infância, celebrado no dia 24 de agosto.
