Prefeito de Araripina e Reitor do IF Sertão discutem Construção de Campus

O prefeito de Araripina, Raimundo Pimentel, se reuniu nesta sexta-feira (12) com o pró-reitor de Orçamento e Administração e reitor eleito do IFSertãoPE, Jean Carlos Alencar, para avançar nas negociações para a construção do campus do Instituto Federal no município.

Acompanhados pela deputada estadual Socorro Pimentel, eles vistoriaram o terreno doado pela prefeitura para a construção, localizado na Vila Santa Maria, próximo ao Sesi, Senai e ao antigo prédio da Faciagra. No local, a prefeitura está finalizando a obra de uma escola com 22 salas de aula.

A construção do campus do IF em Araripina está programada para iniciar ainda este ano, como parte do plano do Governo Federal de estabelecer 100 novos institutos federais em todo o país. Araripina foi uma das cidades escolhidas para sediar um dos novos campi devido à rapidez com que a prefeitura agiu e apresentou o terreno ao Ministério da Educação.

O prefeito Raimundo Pimentel ressaltou a importância da colaboração entre o município e o Governo Federal para concretizar o projeto. “Agradeço ao Governo Federal pela confiança em Araripina e à equipe do IFSertãoPE pelo esforço na construção do nosso campus. Essa conquista é resultado do trabalho conjunto de todos”, declarou.

Além do reitor Jean Carlos, a equipe do IF também inclui o professor Ricardo Araújo, o engenheiro eletricista Tiago Luiz Santana e o diretor de Engenharia e Infraestrutura, Ebson Alves da Silva.
