Pastor Francisco Tércio é homenageado pela Câmara dos Deputados com a Medalha do Mérito Evangélico

A Câmara dos Deputados homenageou nesta terça-feira, 17, o Pastor Francisco Tércio, fundador e Presidente da Assembleia de Deus Ministério Novas de Paz, com a Medalha do Mérito Evangélico, uma das mais altas condecorações concedidas pelo Parlamento a líderes religiosos que se destacam por sua contribuição à fé cristã e à sociedade brasileira.

A solenidade de entrega ocorreu em Brasília, no plenário Ulysses Guimarães. A condecoração do líder religioso foi uma indicação do deputado federal Lula da Fonte (PP-PE).

Reconhecido por sua trajetória marcada por compromisso com a pregação do evangelho, o Pastor Francisco Tércio é uma das principais lideranças evangélicas do estado de Pernambuco.

À frente do Ministério Novas de Paz, denominação com forte presença na Região Metropolitana do Recife, ele tem conduzido um trabalho pastoral pautado pela valorização da Palavra de Deus, pela assistência social e pela formação espiritual de novas gerações.

Com dezenas de congregações, o Ministério Novas de Paz atua em áreas de vulnerabilidade social, promovendo ações comunitárias, projetos de apoio a famílias e evangelismo de base. O pastor Francisco Tércio é também referência por seu posicionamento firme em defesa dos valores cristãos e sua capacidade de liderança pastoral.

A Medalha Daniel Berg e Gunnar Vingren homenageia os missionários suecos que fundaram, em 1911, a Assembleia de Deus no Brasil. A condecoração é destinada a personalidades e instituições que prestaram relevantes serviços à causa evangélica no país.

O Pastor Francisco Tércio é pai da deputada federal Clarissa Tércio (PP-PE), uma das principais representantes da bancada evangélica no Congresso Nacional. Emocionada com a homenagem, a parlamentar celebrou o reconhecimento ao ministério do pai.

“Essa condecoração reconhece não apenas o ministério dele, mas décadas de dedicação ao evangelho e à transformação de vidas. Como filha, sinto orgulho imenso em ver o exemplo de fé, coragem e amor ao próximo que ele representa, principalmente por conta do seu trabalho iniciado dentro do Batalhão da Polícia Militar de Pernambuco, através da sua evangelização por entre os próprios colegas que deu origem ao Ministério Novas de Paz, que até hoje conduz esse trabalho de evangelização e cuidado com o próximo, especialmente na ajuda a quem quer sair do mundo das drogas”, afirmou a parlamentar.

Após receber a medalha das mãos da deputada Clarissa Tércio, o Pastor Francisco Tércio agradeceu a homenagem recebida pela Câmara e enalteceu o reconhecimento que a iniciativa traz para todas as denominações evangélicas.

“Agradeço a Deus por tudo isso, parabenizo o idealizador desta homenagem, que foi guiado pelo Espírito Santo, e parabenizar a todos os presentes neste ato aqui. Essa iniciativa é uma forma louvável de as autoridades reconhecerem publicamente o Evangelho”, discursou o Pastor Tércio na Tribuna da Câmara.

    “It’s an absolute sh*tshow,” one GISS scientist said under condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. “Morale at GISS has never been lower, and it feels for all of us that we are being abandoned by NASA leadership.”

    “We are supposedly going to be integrated into this new virtual NASA modeling institute, but (we have) no idea what that will actually look like,” they said.

    NASA is defending its budget proposal, with a nod toward the lab’s future.
    “NASA’s GISS has a significant place in the history of space science and its work is critical for the Earth Science Division, particularly as the division looks to the future of its modeling work and capabilities,” NASA spokesperson Cheryl Warner said in a statement.

    “Fundamental contributions in research and applications from GISS directly impact daily life by showing the Earth system connections that impact the air we breathe, our health, the food we grow, and the cities we live in,” Warner said.

    GISS has a storied history in climate science on the global scale.

    James Hansen, a former director, first called national attention to human-caused global warming at a Senate hearing during the hot summer of 1988. The lab, founded in 1961, is still known worldwide for its computer modeling of the planet that enable scientists to make projections for how climate change may affect global temperatures, precipitation, extreme weather events and other variables.
