Lançamento do livro “Para além da reforma agrária”

Na próxima segunda-feira, 6 de maio, às 15h, no anfiteatro do CGOE da UFRPE, será realizado o lançamento do livro: “PARA ALÉM DA REFORMA AGRÁRIA”, do escritor pernambucano Renato Carvalho.

Trata-se de uma outra visão, outro projeto de reforma agrária para o Brasil, posto que esse que aí está precisa ser reavaliado com um novo olhar crítico e a nova etapa exige que outras forças políticas e sociais sejam erguidas.

A nova visão que este livro traz, diferente de outras correntes hegemônicas, indica a proposta de liberar a agricultura familiar e a reforma agrária do âmbito da Assistência Social, como prevalece hoje, colocando-a no rumo do Desenvolvimento Econômico. Por isso a consigna de “Ocupe Economia” é algo que aponta este novo caminho.

Para ofertar alimentos saudáveis na escala que a sociedade necessita somente será possível à agricultura familiar se ela desenvolver as suas forças produtivas elevando o seu padrão produtivo. Para tanto deve superar o círculo de ferro da subsistência e se elevar à condição de forças produtivas desenvolvidas sob um padrão de alta tecnologia.

No Brasil o segmento da agricultura Familiar detém cerca de 90 milhões de hectares e quase 1 milhão de famílias aí assentadas. Para cumprir seu papel histórico será preciso passar a tratar suas terras como empreendimentos bem sucedidos dentro de uma lógica de visão socio-empresarial moderna. Eis a revolução social possível. A democracia social passa por aqui pois temos muitas terras improdutivas no país.

O livro é de autoria do advogado e ativista político e social, Renato Carvalho, coordenador nacional da organização social Via Trabalho.
