Seguindo firme na luta em defesa da segurança pública, o município do Cabo de Santo Agostinho deu mais um passo importante na construção de políticas públicas de prevenção à violência. Sob o comando do prefeito Lula Cabral, a gestão municipal assinou sua participação no programa “Construindo Planos de Prevenção”, da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU). Desde que assumiu – pela quarta vez – a administração municipal, no começo deste ano, o prefeito tem coordenado uma série de ações e projetos voltados à promoção da cidadania, educação e segurança cidadã.
“Desde o início da nossa gestão, temos fortalecido a segurança pública e a prevenção à violência com ações concretas. Recuperamos a frota da SDS; capacitamos a Guarda Municipal; ampliamos a Patrulha Escolar; criamos a base da ROMU, na Cohab; realizamos as plenárias dos Fóruns Distritais que ajudarão na construção do Plano Municipal de Segurança Pública; realizaremos a 1ª Conferência Municipal de Segurança Pública, em dezembro e seguimos trabalhando de forma integrada. Com a participação no programa da ONU, queremos avançar ainda mais na construção de uma cidade mais segura para todos”, comentou Lula Cabral.
O Escritório das Nações Unidas sobre Drogas e Crimes fornecerá assessoria para a construção do plano de prevenção. Esse suporte técnico visa garantir que o município utilize metodologias baseadas em evidência, padronize instrumentos de monitoramento e consiga avaliar resultados de forma contínua. “A prevenção da violência é um investimento no futuro da cidade. No caso do Cabo, temos um município que já se encontra preparado estrategicamente para a elaboração do plano,” explicou o consultor do UNODC, Cláudio Carraly.
