O Governo Federal vetou o projeto de Lei ‘PL 6064/23’, que previa o pagamento de indenização por danos morais no valor de 50 mil reais e uma pensão, a ser paga mensalmente até o fim da vida, no valor de 7.786,02 reais, para pessoas com deficiência permanente causada pelo vírus Zika. Ambos os valores seriam corrigidos pela inflação e seriam livres de Imposto de Renda.
A pensão vitalícia vetada poderia ser acumulada com benefícios previdenciários de até um salário mínimo e com o BPC.
O deputado federal André Ferreira, do PL pernambucano comentou o assunto. “Nós aprovamos aqui no Congresso Nacional uma pensão especial para as crianças com deficiência provocada pela infecção do Zika Vírus. De forma insensível, o Governo Federal vetou a lei integralmente, deixando milhares de famílias desamparadas”, disse ele ao Blog do Alberes Xavier..
O deputado prometeu ainda se esforçar para derrubar o veto, diante a necessidade das famílias que necessitam de recursos para o custeio dos tratamentos. “Nós sabemos dos altos custos com os tratamentos de saúde que essas crianças necessitam e vamos trabalhar de forma incansável aqui na Câmara dos Deputados para derrubar esse veto. Vamos juntos nessa luta”.
