A ampliação vai ocorrer nas estações de bombeamento EBI-1 (Cabrobó), EBI-2 (Terra Nova) e EBI-3 (Ramal do Salgado, Salgueiro), aumentando a capacidade atual de bombeamento de 24,75 m³/s para 49 m³/s de água. O projeto beneficiará cerca de 8,1 milhões de pessoas em 237 municípios dos estados de Pernambuco, Ceará, Paraíba e Rio Grande do Norte.
