O presidente nacional do Republicanos, deputado Marcos Pereira, defendeu, nesta quarta-feira, o nome do ministro Silvio Costa Filho para disputar o Senado Federal em 2026, representando o estado de Pernambuco. A confirmação veio em entrevista a rede de Rádios de Pernambuco conduzida pelo jornalista Alberes Xavier.
Segundo Marcos Pereira, a sigla está unida em torno da candidatura de Silvio, que atualmente comanda o Ministério de Portos e Aeroportos no Governo Federal.
“O ministro Silvio Costa Filho é o nosso nome forte e que estamos apostando tudo para o Senado”, afirmou o dirigente.
Pereira reforçou que a candidatura de Costa Filho será uma das prioridades do partido em 2026 e terá total apoio da legenda . A avaliação é que a escolha reflete a estratégia do Republicanos de fortalecer sua presença no Senado e ampliar sua representatividade política no Nordeste.
Silvio Costa Filho, que tem trajetória consolidada na política pernambucana, já foi vereador, secretário de estado, deputado estadual e federal. Ministro de Lula, Silvio tem se destacado no Ministério pela capacidade de articulação política e atração de investimentos para o estado.
