Numa demonstração de força, com mais de oito mil pessoas presentes, o prefeito em exercício de Goiana, Eduardo Batista, grande aposta do partido Avante, teve seu nome consagrado durante convenção partidária como candidato a prefeito na eleição suplementar marcada para 4 de maio. O evento contou com a presença de 13 dos 17 vereadores.
Diante de uma plateia confiante e entusiasmada, o presidente estadual do Avante, Sebastião Oliveira, reforçou o compromisso de Eduardo Batista, que conta com o vereador Pedro Henrique (Republicanos), como candidato a vice, com a cidade: “Confiamos na competência de Eduardo e de Pedro, e não mediremos esforços para que esse projeto tenha êxito. Ele não tá sentado para atrapalhar o que foi deixado. Pelo contrário, está comprometido em tocar todas as obras e, acima de tudo, cuidar bem do povo de Goiana. E não vai faltar apoio do Avante pra isso, nem em Pernambuco nem na Câmara Federal. O deputado federal Waldemar Oliveira e o Avante Nacional estão comprometidos com Goiana”, ressaltou Oliveira.
Com o slogan “Experiência pra fazer muito mais”, Batista e Pedro Henrique, prometeram tirar o município do lugar comum e impulsionar um novo ciclo de desenvolvimento, com mais indústrias e geração de emprego e renda.
“Esse é o maior desafio da minha vida e vocês sabem que eu sou um homem de palavra, quando eu digo que vou fazer eu vou lá e faço. Vamos fazer Goiana grande, com mais indústrias, mais empregos e com força em Pernambuco”, afirmou Batista, que completou: “Desde que assumi o desafio de gerir o município, tenho me dedicado dia e noite a retomar as obras paradas, a acelerar o ritmo do que vinha devagar, e botar para funcionar o que tem e iniciar os projetos que Goiana precisa”. Ele já foi cinco vezes secretário municipal, três vezes vereador, presidente da Câmara e, agora, prefeito.
Pedro Henrique, candidato a vice, falou da honra de estar dividindo esse momento com Eduardo. “Homem de palavra, quem conhece sabe. Juntos vamos dar voz aos moradores de Goiana. Da sede aos distritos, vamos fazer o que nunca foi feito”, afirmou.
Diversas lideranças políticas fizeram questão de marcar presença e hipotecar apoio a Eduardo e Pedro Henrique, entre elas, o deputado federal Eriberto Medeiros e os deputados estaduais Joaquim Lira e Júnior Matuto, além dos prefeitos Zé Martins (João Alfredo), Araújo (Amaraji) e Diego Cabral, (Camaragibe), e do vereador do Recife, Eriberto Rafael.
