O secretário nacional de Aviação Civil, Tomé Franca, participou na manhã da última quinta-feira, dia 02, da solenidade de posse do novo time de secretários do prefeito reeleito do Recife, João Campos, do PSB. O evento aconteceu no estacionamento da Prefeitura da capital e contou com a presença de várias autoridades e aliados políticos do prefeito.
Tomé representou no evento o ministro dos Portos e Aeroportos, Silvio Costa Filho, do Republicanos. Em entrevista ao programa ‘Cidade e Foco’, da Rede Pernambuco de Rádios e ao Blog do Alberes Xavier, Tomé elogiou as escolhas feitas por João Campos: “Um time de extrema qualidade, composto por pessoas experientes e jovens muito capacitados”, disse ele.
Outro assunto abordado na entrevista foi a obra de reforma e ampliação do Aeroporto Oscar Laranjeira, em Caruaru, Pernambuco. O investimento total será de 150 milhões de reais, divididos igualmente entre o Governo Federal e o Estado de Pernambuco. O projeto inclui a construção de um novo terminal de passageiros com seis mil metros quadrados, a ampliação da pista de pouso e decolagem, de 1.800 para 2.250 metros, novas pistas de taxiamento e um pátio para aeronaves.
“Estamos trabalhando para tirar esse projeto do papel, devido a importância dele para a região e para todo o estado de Pernambuco”, disse ele, lembrando que o objetivo da reforma é modernizar o aeroporto, fortalecer a conectividade aérea regional e nacional, e criar novas oportunidades de trabalho. Após a conclusão das obras, o aeroporto deverá operar voos diretos para São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro e Brasília
