A cidade Carnaíba, no sertão do Pajeú, presenciou a maior convenção partidária de sua trajetória política. Mais de três mil pessoas lotaram a Arena Vip, e espalharam-se até fora do espaço que ficou pequeno diante da euforia da multidão que prestigiou o lançamento da coligação “Carnaíba É Daqui pra Melhor”, com Berg Gomes como candidato a prefeito e Cícero Batista como vice-prefeito. A coligação é composta pelos partidos PSB, PT, PV, PC do B e MDB.
Demonstrando força e prestígio, Berg Gomes, apoiado pelo atual prefeito Anchieta Patriota, recebeu o apoio do senador Humberto Costa em seu palanque, que confirmou que Berg é o único candidato apoiado pelo presidente Lula no município. Também marcaram presença os deputados federais Pedro Campos e Lucas Ramos, o superintendente da Sudene Danilo Cabral e o deputado estadual e líder da oposição na Assembleia Legislativa de Pernambuco, Diogo Moraes.
Além dos políticos presentes, o senador Fernando Dueire, a senadora Teresa Leitão e o prefeito do Recife, João Campos, enviaram vídeos expressando apoio às candidaturas de Berg Gomes e Cícero Batista. O deputado estadual José Patriota, impedido de comparecer por questões de saúde, também manifestou seu apoio.
A emoção dominou o evento, que se revelou a manifestação política mais genuína e democrática de Carnaíba. O carinho da multidão pelo atual prefeito Anchieta Patriota e a aceitação de sua indicação para sucessão foram o ponto alto do evento. A convenção simbolizou um marco histórico para Carnaíba, ressaltando a importância do engajamento político e a força da democracia no município.
