Termina nesta segunda-feira (5) o prazo que todos os partidos e federações realizem suas convenções para escolha dos candidatos que disputarão as eleições municipais de 2024, marcadas para outubro. Com informações Agência Brasil.
Em anos eleitorais, a convenção partidária é etapa obrigatória para o registro de candidatos, que precisam ter seus nomes oficializados pelas siglas. São encontros formais – de formato presencial ou híbrido – em que os membros de uma legenda manifestam seus apoios. A organização dessas reuniões é feita de acordo com o estatuto de cada agremiação.
Confirmação de candidaturas
Em geral, as maiores siglas costumam chegar às convenções com os principais nomes decididos, tornando o evento uma espécie de celebração para confirmação das candidaturas. No mesmo encontro também são deliberadas eventuais coligações.
Cada sigla, coligação ou federação partidária pode ter somente um candidato a prefeito e vice em cada município. No caso de vereadores, cada partido pode ter como candidatos até o número total de cadeiras a serem ocupadas, mais um.
Pelo calendário eleitoral deste ano, após as convenções, os partidos têm até 15 de agosto para protocolar o registro de todas as candidaturas. Até o momento, já foram pedidos registros de quase 45 mil candidaturas para as eleições deste ano.
Este ano quase 156 milhões de brasileiros estão aptos a votar nos 5.569 municípios do país.
