A vereadora do Recife, Kari Santos, propõe Comissão Permanente de Adaptação de Crises Climáticas e mais concursos para a Defesa Civil

A vereadora do Recife, Kari Santos, foi às ruas, nesta quinta-feira (06/02), para vistoriar as consequências das fortes chuvas na Região Metropolitana da cidade.

Kari escutou moradores do Ibura, bairro que sempre é afetado pelas chuvas. “É inadmissível que nosso povo viva com medo de perder seus bens e até a sua vida, toda vez que chove. Já passou da hora de tomarmos providências concretas para prevenção dessas tragédias decorrentes das chuvas em Recife”, reagiu.

A vereadora está propondo uma Comissão Permanente de Adaptação de Crises Climáticas, na Câmara Municipal. “Precisamos investir antecipadamente para enfrentar os impactos ambientais, proteger as áreas periféricas, que são as que mais sofrem, e garantir políticas públicas eficazes”, explicou.

Além da Comissão, a vereadora solicitará a abertura de concursos públicos para a Defesa Civil. “Há quase 20 anos, não se faz concurso para a Defesa Civil. Os locais que visitei contavam com pouquíssimos concursados trabalhando. Temos pouco efetivo para atender aos inúmeros chamados da população, principalmente em épocas de chuva. Essa é outra questão que tem que ser observada e já antecipada para os próximos períodos de chuva”, pontuou Kari.

A vereadora promete ainda dialogar com as comunidades e cobrar as autoridades competentes. “Precisamos buscar alternativas urgentes e escutar a população é o primeiro passo”, concluiu.
